Italy is a beautiful country but is one of the countries that probably have some questions and preconceptions, before coming to this special country. A place of olive oil, pasta, wine, mafia and sunshine, roman ruins and renaissance palaces, Italy has given a lot to tourists. Although some of these ideas are surprising and interesting, it would be a shame if that was all to come up with. Italy is certainly much more complex and stimulating than these concepts.
Italy is a country full of interesting things for tourists and the tourist cult, which has deep Catholic roots. The tourists can stay weeks bored in important tourist centers without reason, but just as easy to get out of the ordinary. In the north, near the Alps and the Po river landscape, many cultural gems and highly developed industrial cities fascinate. In this exciting country, people live "La Vita Italiana.
The Belpaese (Beautiful Country) is one of the largest single repository of sensory pleasures on earth. From art to food, from the magnificent and varied landscape to fashion extravagant Italy has it all. This is the land that brought us from Slow Food, dedicated to the promotion of fresh produce and fine cuisine. What began as a protest against local fast food is a global movement.
With 44 sites, Italy has more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than any other country on Earth. His great città d'arte (cities of art), like Rome, Venice and Florence were attracted visitors for centuries, and rightly so. Sometimes it seems that the country is based on his artistic laurels. This is not entirely correct. Milan, the country's financial system has created a center of largest and most modern trade fair in Europe and is planning a large housing development, the complex of urban life in the heart of the city. Venice is the city that may have changed in appearance, at least for decades, but has recently opened an elegant new bridge over the Grand Canal and a spectacular space for contemporary art at the Punta della Dogana.
In addition to Italian art, many of you will find that keeping busy in the landscape. May, in the Alps, the Dolomites hiking or diving off the coast of Sardinia ski gold. Adrenaline junkies can catch fireworks in volatile Sicilian volcanoes. But however much this is a trip to Italy for a splash of life. It is idling over a coffee in a cafe or on the street out of place for a long lunch break in the hot Mediterranean sun.
